I am a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist having received my diploma from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
My interest in health and wellbeing came at an early age, having been raised by health conscious parents who were often trying out new diets and healthy approaches to life. Despite this, I was often unwell as a child and suffered from asthma, hay fever, allergies and respiratory infections. It was only on discovering that I had an intolerance to dairy products, and by avoiding these foods, that I began to get well.
This gave me a first hand experience of the impact that diet could have on ones health, and my interest in nutrition was sparked. This became a real passion, when I had my own children and needed to address their health issues.
Wanting to develop my knowledge of how to help my own family, as well as others, I undertook the 3 year training in Nutritional Therapy. This has deepened my understanding and appreciation of the power of nutrition and has given me the expertise to develop a career in this fascinating field.
My work life prior to becoming a Nutritional Therapist has included roles such as Nursing Assistant, Education Welfare Officer, and Young Person’s Adviser. I also hold a Diploma in Counselling. Helping others has always been an important focus for me, and supporting people to achieve optimal health through nutrition and lifestyle has been a natural extension to my previous work.
